Title: clean up lm_sent table
Post by: dbowen1 on February 17, 2005, 07:20:01 am
Hi Dean,

I gotta say I LOVE the new "link to html" message code. In taking a look at my database it appears that ListMail saves all sent messages to the lm_sent table and this code uses that table to do its job.

Firstly, I can see some AWESOME possibilities for an archiving feature with this! Secondly, I'm wondering if you can build in an admin interface for cleaning up the lm_sent table? I can see it growing quite large for users who send a lot of messages.

What do you think?

Thanks,
Dan

Dan,

I think that's a great idea.  The ability to view sent messages is a main feature that will be in the update I'm working on.  Eventually, archiving will also be a feature.

Regards!

Dean,

Thanks for considering the archiving feature. A few suggestions for the administration of this feature:

1. Specify if specific messages are viewable or not viewable in the archives

2. Specify categories of messages in the archives; i.e. Press Releases, Company News, Special Announcements, etc.

3. The category names can be specified in a list configuration option

4. Entire categories can be marked as viewable or not viewable in the archives

5. Public and private archive search functions

Hope my explanation is clear. Let me know your thoughts...

Thanks,
Dan

Great suggestions, Dan - thanks.  Indeed, archiving should not be far off when I get the sent message viewing page finished.  (This major missing feature will be coming next!)

Currently, by default, ListMail will keep 50 sent messages and remove the rest automatically at dailymail.
