Needed Feature: Conditional Followups
« on: February 02, 2006, 07:05:26 am »
Hi DW,

Here is a feature that would bea great help!

Suppose you have 2 lists, a "marketing" list (to try to sell your product), and a customer list.

It would be great if you could add list selection conditions to each followup.

For example:

On day 10:
-IF user IS NOT on the "customer list" THEN send followup.
-ELSE send alternate followup.

So this way you could for example send a message to your prospects on day 10 to "sweeten the deal" (and try to entice them to order) if they haven't already ordered....

Also, Followup sequences that can be sent to list selections (just like with the Send Mail function...)

Thanks!
Erik

This is easy to do now...

1.  When a prospect becomes a customer just move them to customer list and take them off prospect list, so they don't get the "prospect" list followups.

For the second part, simply "quick save" any followup and send it to any list you choose...

Yes, it could be done that way, but it just ads allot of manual labor.  We run a pretty high traffic list, so manually moving them is not ideal. (we already have custom scripts to do some of this for us).

Being able to "merge and purge" lists is really invaluable.  I was thrilled when the feature was released for the Send Mail system last year.  Now, we just need something comparable in the followup section.

Automation is Zen!!! :-)

I agree about the automation part... and until your feature gets added or if ever, check out this, which auto does what I'm talking about doing:
