Title: Reliable !remove code
Post by: mr.trevor on June 30, 2006, 03:35:32 pm
What is the feeling about the PHP code attaching a mandatory removal link at the end of mail sent in the event that you forget to add the !remove message yourself or have somehow accidentally removed or lost the code? (If that didn't make sense I mean you get one added if you like it or not..)

Just a thought that it could save some embarrassment with the canspam laws. I know I get even legitimate mail without remove links as the mail is sometimes in HTML but I only view my email in text.

I have had a few like this with 'click here' and no link in the text version.

Anyone wanting to use mail to for adding to a blog could perhaps add themselves to their list and edit/delete whats received before forwarding to their blog...

Just some thoughts... nothing serious.

Interesting idea, but I'd like the ability to turn it on/off.

Occasionally, I use ListMail to send an e-mail to a personal list of friends and family that I have, so this use is unique.

So do I, it works fine, you can't make software completely 'IDIOT PROOF', it's impossible, the next thing you would ask for is - automatically setting up your followups and dates/times, etc, etc....

It's not possible.

It works fine just like it is.

Thanks for the comments, they are appreciated.

Thinking about it now, this also wouldn't prevent anyone unscrupulous enough to deliberately exclude the link, from adding removed addresses back in anyway.

Can't think what brought that idea to my mind now....

I have had a few requests for this, actually.  Forgetting the link once can have undesired results (spam complaints, hate mail, etc.)

I'll keep this option as a suggestion. :)
