Title: REMOVE from ALL LISTS...
Post by: BGSWebDesign on May 10, 2004, 06:09:44 pm
Hi,

This is really necessary as the CAN-SPAM act requires it!

REMOVE FROM ALL LISTS
-----------------------------
Also, we need that in a REMOVE link, REMOVE FROM ALL LISTS, the problems with SPAM and with the CAN-SPAM act, it requires you to list a link for removal from ALL lists!

That should not be too hard to implement, can you provide the code for it up here, or a quick update?

A multiple or global remove-link is definitely coming soon.  I will make a note of this and should have it for the next release.

Hi Dean,

Thanks for adding this feature...  Just wondering when you might finish this option, or if you can post a minor update between now and next release?

This feature is really essential, as CAN-SPAM requires it, and if I have multiple lists setup I need to have a feature to allow the user to remove themself from ALL lists.

I will see what I can do
Title: Global removal
Post by: KB on January 26, 2005, 09:57:52 pm
Hi Dean

Any idea on the global removal option yet. Two things.
1. The need to be able to unsubscribe from all lists
2. The capability to permanently ban an email or ip address from being    imported. As you may remember - I buy co registration lists and the same names crop up on all the lists and cause all the trouble.

Regards

Kevin

Kevin,

There should be an option on the Import Users page:

Do not overwrite unconfirmed, previously removed, or bounced users (if kept in database)

Once the remove option is made global you should be all set.. :)

Hi Dean -

I understand the don't overwrite rule - but I haven't kept the removes in the db - just gets too big. Also seems to only apply to that list - so if I have my db in several lists the reports would still get imported.
Am I understanding correctly.
