Title: Schedule Suggestion
Post by: cwboaze on May 16, 2004, 05:06:39 pm
Hi Dean,

I would love to see where you could be able to schedule emails to go out
down to the seconds of time.

Like if I wanted it to mail out tomorrow at 4:50:09 EST.

Is that possible to build in?

Thanks,
CB

Hi CB,

While that sounds like a good idea, it would nearly BLOW-UP your Processor!  It would require a cron job running every second and create a huge bottleneck...  perhaps there's another way, but not that I can think of, unless you dump it in a schedule table and look for it, then schedule a task to run at that EXACT time, but it would probably be only to run a few that way.

Good luck 8)

I have been thinking about an "hourlymail" script that would offer more diverse timing -  24 times more diverse to be exact.  This would give some flexibility without causing too much trouble on the web host.  I might do this in a future version as a few people have requested it.
