Is there a size limit on attachments? I had a large file which would not register when uploaded. However, when I divided it in two, each file then registered on the list eg. 780k and 2M.

Yes, there's a PHP maximum upload size which is probably causing this.  What you can do is either ask your host to raise the limit or upload your files manually to the listmail/attach folder.
