Hi All

I'm in the process of setting up Google Analytics and need to modify the confim e-mail link that is sent out to be

http://www.props-n-frocks.co.uk/listmail/confirm.php?utm_nooverride=1.

How and where would I find this?

I really would like a reply from some one as I need this to stop Google Analytics giving false information

Doesn't GA only work if you put their code on the page? ( I use it but haven't messed with it in a while ).

I believe that's the case, so therefore NO change should be required in this if you don't want GA to analyze the confirm page.

Or are you wanting GA to report on the confirm page?

If you read this from a GA consultant you may understand better what I am trying to do.

When I signed up for your newsletter I was sent an email in order to confirm my email address. If I click on the link within that email my referral information will be overwritten. So hypothetically my visit might look something like this:

Click Adwords Ad -> Visit your site -> Sign up for newsletter -> return to site via link in email -> purchase product.

That sale would be attributed to the email that was sent out, not the Adwords ad that actually drove me to the site. To prevent the source information from being overwritten when you send out that email for people to click on the link to return to the site you should just add a query parameter. The link in the email you sent out should be something like www.props-n-frocks.co.uk/listmail/confirm.php?utm_nooverride=1.

Does that make sense to you? to be quiet honest I am just a passenger here. Although we have had Listmail for two years we haven't used it much but intend to getr eally involved with it now. Once again thanks for the reply.

Ok, that makes sense, so you want GA to not override the customers existing cookie/info from the previous page... gotcha.

Ok, the simplest way to do this in in your confirm message you'll see the confirm code:

Code: [Select]

!confirm

Simply change that to:

Code: [Select]

!confirm&utm_nooverride=1

Worked for me, test first.

There's no code to change on any of the actual files.... you want to change your confirmation email message.

Goto: "List settings" and edit the confirmation message that is sent out. Simply change all the "!confirm" instances in the email to "!confirm&utm_nooverride=1".
