Title: Error 550: Administrative Prohibition...
Post by: cody on March 23, 2005, 09:18:17 am
Hello,

All emails go out perfectly when I do them manually. When I run DailyMail, though (manually) to send out followups it never sends any of them, it just queues them instead with the error:

550: Administrative Prohibition

Any ideas?

Thanks!
Cody

It seems that you are either not being authorized properly or you have reached a server limit on the number of emails per hour or day.  Please make sure you are on the latest files available from the members area and ask your host if the have any limits on email.

That's what I originally thought as well, but it does not make sense. I have several lists. My first list has over 130,000 members on it. Emails go out fine on that list always.

The second list (that I have problems with) will not deliver ANY messages other than the auto-response (welcome email). After that, all emails I try to send, including the  followups give an error like:

I don't think it's my server because the server sends unlimited mails, and from a much larger list than this, even before AND after the errors with this list.

Thanks,
Cody

I get the same error 550.
I have only just installed v1.8 as a fresh instal and it's new on system with a list of 2 (two).
Test send and bounce seem to work and reports to my admin.
I get this error 550 when using 'send an email'
I have not set up CRON yet but manually sending dailymail has the same error. I have listed complete report to show progress.

UPDATE...    OK I should have waded back through ALL the posts on here.... I didn't set the FROM mail address to one on my server. Duh..!

Yes, it is also (sometimes) necessary to make sure the "Bounce To" and "Send From" addresses are on your server.  Rarely, on the most strict servers, the "Send From" email might even need to exist as a mailbox.
