Trying to install LM on www.focusbelgium.org. Already running on www.eu-careers.com.
carefully followed instruction and copied files, etc. www.eu-careers.com install done by Dean and works fine.
With install on new site all seems ok until i try to do initial setup of database When i type in browser www.focusbelgium.org/mail/ for the first time, I get this error message:
index.php: parse error, expecting `'('' on line 3
header('Location: login.php');
Have searched forum and tried to figure out problem myself but no luck. time to call for help.

I have not seen such behaviour before. Are you sure the files were not, perhaps, corrupted on upload? Have you tried re-uploading, possibly with a different FTP client?
Is the host running the latest version of PHP?
If you continue to have troubles please post a tech support request of the type 'Other' at http://listmailpro.com/support

Have re-loaded files, and have re-loaded latest version of ListMail.
Still no work.
Using same FTP sofware I use for everything else WS_FTP95 LE. I know it is old but have never had problem with it. Use it to maintain websites, etc.
Will check on version of PHP being run on server.
thanks.

Mert,
I believe there is a problem with WSFTPLE uploading PHP files in the wrong format. To verify the problem, try Right-click -> View on a remote ListMail .php file. If the file appears double-spaced or otherwise mangled, try going into the settings and setting "php" files to upload in ASCII instead of binary. Then, reupload the files and try to verify the fix.

Have tried your latest suggestion. does not work.
Strange thing is that I run your software at my other website www.eu-careers.com and always use WSFTP95LE and have never had a problem. Did upgrade, transferred files and all is well.
Anyway, fighting with this is not the best use of my time.
I will willing pay the $50 for install by you.
Just let me know how to make this happen.
It will be $50 well spent.
Regards,
Mert.

Warning: mysql_connect(): Access denied for user: 'vision_enetauto@localhost' (Using password: YES) in /home/vision/public_html/enetauto/admin.php on line 2690
Could not connect to MySQL. Please check your MySQL database, username, password, and permissions and set up ListMail's config.php
MySQL Error: Access denied for user: 'vision_enetauto@localhost' (Using password: YES)
Now I've set config.php, permissions and when entering the url. My host provider says it's the program scripts and they take no responsibility for same.
I've done this install many times before and cannot understand what is wrong.
I've even tried separately setting up the database, user name and password prior to installation BUT that didn't work either.
I've writting to you Dean several times. I guess you're very busy. Right now my LISTMAILPRO autoresponder is out of business and costing me lost names and email addresses.
What do I do that's not in the installation instructions?

Keep getting this same reply:

Mert,

Dennis,
It would appear that your settings for MySQL username, password, and/or database are incorrect. On some control panels after creating a database and the user, you must take a 3rd step of adding the user to the database. Did you, perhaps, miss this step?
Regards!
-
Thank you! That in fact was the missing piece!!! To be honest, I've never had to do that for any previous installations. But it works now and the only thing missing is the ListMailPro logo2.gif pic even though the file is in the folder.
Thanks again,
Dennis

Dean,
I got it to work and that lasted about a day, now when someone subscribes, the page telling them that before they'll be added to the list they will have to respond to an email sent to them....< this page I refer to is blank / white. No errors.
I'm baffled. How is it possible for it to work for a day and then this happens?

Your host could be having a problem. If you like, submit your info (http://listmailpro.com/support?t=other) to me and I'll do some troubleshooting.

Hi Dean,
I am having the same as the member above with installing 1.84:
Warning: mysql_connect(): Access denied for user 'wwwviny_lmpadmin'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /home/wwwviny/public_html/lm/admin.php on line 2690
Could not connect to MySQL. Please check your MySQL database, username, password, and permissions and set up ListMail's config.php
MySQL Error: Access denied for user 'wwwviny_lmpadmin'@'localhost' (using password: YES)
I've checked username, password, and dbname. I've deleted the db and recreated it. I've added the user and provided the user with all priveledges.
Since we don't edit the admin.php file, what other file should I look for that I could have made an error? I've also tried re-uploading admin.php and config.php. Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks,
Eric

You should not get the message if your MySQL hostname, username, password, and database are set up and correctly entered into config.php. Reuploading or editing files should have no effect on this issue. Perhaps your host uses a MySQL hostname other than localhost. The correct information should be available in your hosting control panel.
