Title: How to exclude certain email addresses from a mailing
Post by: debbuxton on October 21, 2005, 08:32:50 am
Hi all,

Because of issues with Cox.net -- my server's ip address was blocked since April when they began their new filtering which doesn't allow more than 20 emails in 3 minutes or you are blocked from sending any email to them for a 24 hour period. This 24 hour block renews itself indefinitly should you violate the 20 in 3 restrictions. I want to start excluding their address in a couple of my clients larging emails.

How do I make a selection and exclude any emails that have a cox.net address?

Thanks,
deb

Deb,

Set up a new User Selection, with a single rule to search Active users on the List you want to email.  Search the Email Address field with the != (not equals) parameter.  Enter %@cox.net in the search text box.

Voila! :)  When you email this selection it will exclude email address @cox.net

I may eventually move this post to the server Optimizations forum to tip off other administrator's about cox.net's policy.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance!

Regards
