Post by: jamescole on April 17, 2008, 12:52:24 pm
1) What is the difference between the administration password and the daily mail password.

2) If I change my FTP password will that effect any of the other funtions on the LMP like the daily mail?

Much thanks

Greetings,

The "Administrator Password" is the password used for logging into ListMail.  The "Dailymail Password" is used for the daily scheduled task.  There are two passwords for security, as the dailymail password will be shown in areas like web server logs, etc.

Your FTP password has no effect on the operation of ListMail.  The only reason you need FTP is for originally uploading the ListMail files.

Please let me know if you have any more questions!

Regards

The MySQL password is set up in the config.php file.  You use FTP to upload the files, including config.php which contains the MySQL access details from your hosting control panel.  After that, the MySQL password should not change.

Were you to change the dailymail password you would, however, have to change the password for the scheduled task (http://www.listmailpro.com/help/dailymail_cron.html).
