Title: Restore problem
Post by: gmichel on July 11, 2004, 08:29:29 am
Hi Dean,

I moved my site to a new server and I am having a hard time to make listmail work again.

1. First I created a Msql database
2. I uploaded listmail
3. I reinstalled Listmail (the message said no error)
4. I restored a backup file.

And I get now:

On Signup from form:
Warning: mysql_fetch_row(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/reperage/public_html/listmail/signup.php on line 183
>> confirmation email is sent and user entered in database. Custom HTML not displayed.

On Confirm
Warning: mysql_fetch_row(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/reperage/public_html/listmail/confirm.php on line 27

In Message codes:
Warning: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/reperage/public_html/listmail/editconf.php on line 604

For Custom HTML: Could not read database.

HELP !!!!!

Thank you.

Michel

Do you still have the original installation on the first server?   Your backup file may be incomplete and we might have to do a manual extraction..

Hi Dean,

Thanks for the advice.

On the old server I used the export sql feature to backup a fresh file.
On the new server, I then erased all tables and imported the backup.

.... and all work like before! waow...

What I did previously is a backup from the cPanel but it seems that databases are not saved properly. I had the same problem with a guest book and I just used phpmyadmin to backup the file and it worked.

The morale of this is beware of cPanel backups....

Thanks Dean for your help and this forum.
