Title: Signup Error
Post by: Marine on April 12, 2007, 09:38:48 am
I am using LMP on a Thank You page.  The signup form has these fields:
First Name
Last Name
Email Address
plus 8 Custom Fields

I have setup error messages for all of my custom fields.

I have tested the form online, the working preview, and on my laptop.  On all three, I get the following error on the signup.php page.

There were errors with your subscription to our mailing list.

The error messages are as follows:

Please press the back button on your browser and re-enter your information.

This makes no sense to me.

I made another test, which was to leave out the @ in my email address.  This time I got the appropriate error:
There were errors with your subscription to our mailing list.

The error messages are as follows:
The email address you entered is in an incorrect format.

Please press the back button on your browser and re-enter your information.

This site is scheduled to go live in the next few days and this form is crucial to have ready to take orders.

I hope there is a quick fix to this problem that someone  can tell me how to do it.

Thanks,

Neil

Hi Dean,

I know it's been a month since you responded to my support ticket, but my health
has prevented me from doing a lot of what I need to do with my business. I've had
to go to more outpatient appointments than I can count right now.  And I'm having
major surgery on June 11th.

That's enough about me  :(   I'll get back to the Signup Error.  When you ran a test,
you had no problems with signing up on my form.  Would you please run another test
as if you were a returning customer that ordered a new webhosting account?  I
think that is when the problem happens.

To refresh your memory, here is my support ticket: http://listmailpro.com/support/?t=331bb115b4fa9e7f62def0a1f1c1daeb

Fortunately, that hasn't happened since most of my customers at: http://A1-WebsiteHosting.com
have signed up as a reseller or taken advantage of my June special and haven't
needed to signup for another account yet.

It may be that I don't have the list settings to accept duplicate signups.  I'm sure its
there, but I can't find it.  If that is possible, please let me know.

Thanks for helping me DW!

Neil
