Title: SMTP Problems...Has Permissions have anything to do with it?
Post by: ruben on May 07, 2007, 06:03:48 pm
My host no longer allows 777 permissions.....they allow 755 at the most.

I can not get my SMTP to work successfully.....

Does the permissions limitation have anything to do with SMTP problem?

Thanks in advance!

Ruben,

No, the permissions should not have any effect on SMTP.  It should only affect the script's ability to write files to folders, such as when uploading attachments, writing backup files, etc.

Your host may have disabled SMTP sending from web scripts.

It sounds like your host is really cracking down!  Have you seen the recommended hosts (http://listmailpro.com/forum/index.php?topic=1699.0)? :)
