Title: User management of subscription information.
Post by: JMorrow on July 14, 2005, 01:19:35 pm
Greetings!

I have a client who is using both standard and custom fields...and just wants her clients to be able to update their key contact info.

Is there a way to allow a list subscriber to change or update their own information?

Thanks for any steering on this!

Even if it is...I don't know how to do this.  Any help out there?
Title: DW - can we get a sample?

Hi,

I don't know of a way either, basically you'll probably have to start from the standard form that you can generate for updating Email, and then add in your custom fields to that.

DW - any ideas, a nice custom script/sample HTML would help greatly, here's a great idea for one of those free Module/Option upgrades we talked about....

This hasn't yet been implemented because of the complexity of setting up Custom HTML with a customizable form that works.

The best way would be with a custom script matching up your user in the database to their "Unique ID".

A script could be created, for example "profile.php" and then used along with a "User's Unique ID" message code in your emails, ie:

http://site.com/listmail/profile.php?id=!uid

The script could bring up the user's information and allow them to modify it.

I can't do this right now but might have a chance tomorrow.  For priority service you might order a Server Analysis the cost of which would be acceptable for a simple custom script that will do this for you.

Hi Dean / world ~

Did you ever come up with a solution to this one?

A client paid me to create this for them and allowed me to share it (!).  Here's the link:
