Export 'All Lists' Function
« on: December 13, 2005, 07:53:09 am »
Hi Dean,

You said if I had a suggestion that I should post it here. So here goes.

I run about 13 different lists with ListMailPro and so when I go to back up each list it takes a while to do so.

I was wondering if you might be able to include a "Global Export" function
in LMP that, with one or two clicks, downloads and saves ALL lists in a single file?

That would be very useful...

Thanks so much again for a great product!

I don't generally recommend that you export your lists in order to backup your ListMail users.  Are you having troubles using the "Backup" feature from the "Config" page?  This feature creates a file containing your lists, data, users, and all settings - basically ALL of the MySQL data which is ALL of ListMail's data!

I will soon be providing a way to export User Selections so that your export options become availabe.

Hi Dean,

That will work for backups in an disaster situation - but what I was looking for is a way to back up just my lists on a daily basis because I gather not just email but also the physical mailing addresses of my visitors. Each day I enter these into a contact manager. If I could get just the lists in an excel spreadsheet format that would help rather than an entire system backup.

Thanks agian,

-Dave

Actually, you should be able to export all lists.  On the export page the default is list 1, but if you open the list select box at the top you should see "All Lists".
