Hi DW,
Seems straightforward enough.
Yes, that looks fine, but this is NOT needed with split links, in fact split llinks are not even needed IF you provide Split tested messages - read more below...
I'm not sure where you are coming up with this, are you confused? A split test message includes different text and the LINK can be different but it usually is NOT, here is what was proposed earlier (by me):
MSG #1 - includes different text.... AND link with #1 appended.
MSG #2 - includes different text.... AND link with #2 appended.
MSG #3 - includes different text.... AND link with #3 appended.
MSG #4 - includes different text.... AND link with #4 appended
Do you think each link is different here? It is not, the only reason I said 1 appended, 2 appended was to tie them to the message (1, and 2). Each link is tied to the different text for the message, they are not different split tested links!
how multiple rows for split mailings, so that "# Sent" could be accurately represented for each variation. We might also be able to display "# Clicks"
This part is brilliant, great work and exactly what we do need...
If we split a message by 2 with 2 split links inside
I believe you are overthinking this, I do NOT need, and I doubt anyone does multiple split links within a split test message. Usually what happens is when you Split Test you have 1 link at a time that you are testing - it is DISADVANTAGEOUS - in fact - just plain stupid to test multiple split links in the same message - here is why:
When you test something you ONLY change ONE thing at a time, never more than that, when you change more it is impossible to determine which thing caused the changes in clicks, response rate, or overall rate of return. You NEVER test more than one different thing at a time - any marketer worth anything will tell you that testing involves tiny changes of ONE THING at a time, then re-test, over and over, not changing multiple things at once - where did you come up with this?
UPDATE
=====
Ok, I've thought it through, it may be useful, but I'd have to see how it is implemented first... since you're going to have a TON of data that needs to be sorted and displayed properly! Good luck on that part :?
Please don't try to think up ways to make it better by adding more/more options that will 1.) complicate your LMP software to where it is not even usable by the average person and 2.) Provide options that only a handful of people use because they 'think' they need it!
Tell us how you plan to display the data on this (split links / split tested messages)?
Good luck on this...
