Banned Email addresses (domains)
« on: May 10, 2004, 06:17:16 pm »
Hi,

This is a really big one too, and is probably required for CAN-SPAM act.  Say you get some Dummy that claims you spammed him/her, and wants to make your life miserable by replying like - "Do that again and I'll get you", or "sue you", or "report you", or on and on it goes, I've seen them all....

It would be great to have a GLOBAL Banned Email address list, that would allow entering those Email addresses (and/or domains).  Whenever an Email is sent out, those addresses/domains are automatically removed before ANY email is sent.

Solves the problem and works perfectly...  how soon can we see this?
Thanks,
-Brett

A banned address feature is already in the works for the next release.  Checking the list before it's mailed would be a definite safeguard.  I may implement it this way or, to save MySQL processing time when emailing, I will simply add restrictions on the ability to Import, Manually add, or have such addresses Subscribe.  Existing banned addresses could be filtered out as one creates banned address rules.
