Insert web page
« on: November 16, 2005, 08:36:13 pm »
Not sure if this is possible....possible a comand or an update- simplely put just want to format the the contents of the html from a live webpage.

each auto would take the page from the site insert in the message and send-too easy? I know it would take some checking of html format with images etc- but would be great for RSS -blogs etc

It should be relatively easy to set up a script to insert a scheduled message each day before dailymail.  The page HTML could be obtained from the web, but we'd need to make sure all image and link paths are absolute and not relative.  Would this work for you?

so could you set it up just like setting up a new Auto? and in the setting say send this page (insert page address)

Yes would need to be absolute -and you would need to test it having the auto send the page to the owner.

You know it would be pretty easy to add this right into ListMail.  A simple text box under the HTML section of any message could allow you to specify a page to send instead of entering one manually.  The page would be loaded once and then processed, just as ListMail messages are now, so it wouldn't be any less efficient.

I'm moving this to the suggestions forum. :)
