Statistics, Statistics, Statistics - Stats - we need this!

Hi,

Regarding LMP which is great, I'd love to be able to get some more detailed statistics (stats), this is really hurting me...

For example, I've got 30-40 lists, but I have no way of knowing WHEN someone Removed themself from a list, or if they just Bounced from a list.  This information would be very useful, especially if they removed themself, when they did that - first sequence, etc, etc...

I know this data is in the database, since I can limit the User Database to Removed Users and sort by Sequence #, but I can't get the DATE they were Removed, or can I DW, Anyone??

IF I can get the date they were Removed that would be the best - since I could then determine HOW LONG they stayed on the list - and then work out an Average time they stay on, and try to determine WHEN and WHY they are dropping off...

ALL of this information is critical to understanding how to keep subscribers and also holds very useful Marketing Information, but only if it is available!

How about DW?  Are there any plans for this, or can you recommend HOW we can get the DATE they are removed, is it available??  Can you suggest a query along the lines of the one posted here (Excel Query to get Hits): http://listmailpro.com/forum/index.php?topic=29.0  

This is ok, but it just gives Hits, we need so much more information, full statistics on each list would be best....

This is not currently possible as the date is not (yet) stored in the database.  The one thing you might look at is the remove notification email.  You could compare the date of this message to the date the user subscribed...  This would, of course, be very time consuming.  I will consider adding the remove time and better reporting for the next update.

Considering you want to track when and why subscribers are leaving, it would probably be best to display the "total time subscribed", and maybe an average by way of new selection/dropdowns, and then have a way (as Don has been suggesting recently) to view/set followups by the "# of days from subscription" instead of the current Seq and Delay display.  This might play havoc on followup processing and the fact that dailymail might be 'missed' on some days resulting in incorrect timing.  Perhaps I can implement this WITH the current Seq/ Delay-based backend and keep processing it the same, but automatically calculate all of these values as "days from subscription" all the while accounting for insertions, deletes, etc. as they are set up now...  We could, by appearance, do away with Seq and Delay entirely.

You better re-think this!  I think there is GREAT value in being able to send email to people who have NOT received a certain Seq#, so the way to do it with 'days from subscription' would be clumsy and difficult to use - and harder for me to prepare mailings...

While this may sound good for some, for others it is not -  I believe there is probably a standard in the industry in that most mailers use 'Delay', and also some type of a Sequence #, but it's been so long since I've used them I can't say for sure...

The less that you make these type of 'major changes' to the workings of LMP the easier it will be for others to make sense of what is going on with each new version....  again, as I've suggested, put up a POLL on it, find out for REAL what other people want, while your at it, ask them if they would like Statistics - and point out how it would look - Subscribers/Bounced/Deleted, etc, etc....  adding a simple Date Unsubbed should do it?

I agree with Brett...this should just be as an option, an addition to way things are already done.  

The way it works right now with "Delay" seems to be the standard and should NOT be changed or taken out.

Thanks for even considering my request...but I do like the way followups are done right now.  I just would like the "option" to do the ""# of days from subscription"
