A way forward for ListMail
« on: May 21, 2009, 01:02:33 pm »
Dean has always been overgenerous with his time, which is why we are now in this pickle.
How about making the Forum by annual subscription only (a few dollars a year won't break anyone).
If Dean doesn't want to do it, all we would need would be a programmer recommended by Dean - Dean could keep the sales revenue (or most of it) and the Forum and part of the sales revenue could finance development and support.

If anyone knows how to contact Dean, perhaps they could put the idea to home

I've gotten more than my money's worth from Listmail and still think it's awesome and will continue to use it. I'm a little saddened to see that the project is apparently abandoned.

Dean, because our options are basically that Listmail is abandoned, I'd be happy to renegotiate the terms of future upgrades if it insured more updates. There has to be some sort of solution here.

Hi Steve,

I hardly ever check back in here (for obvious reasons) so just replying now.

Unfortunately, it's highly unlikely to work.   If you look back in the archives you'll see that 18 months ago there were a bunch of us trying to throw potentially large amounts of money Dean's way to add new features to LMP.   At that time I had several thousand dollars I was prepared to invest in getting new features and improvements.

Unfortunately Dean didn't want to do that and now I'm guessing he's totally burned out and has abandoned the project...

Hi,

We tried to convince Dean to do this with the LMP forums years ago. He never did.

I'm sorry to say that no one can even reach Dean, even though this website and forum live on. There are still many of us that use, and love LMP.

I am providing technical support and help through my own website, link below...
Thanks,

Hope Dean will consider some of these ideas to keep this project alive and moving forward. Hope he is OK. Life is hard to bear and we all get down in the dumps with life's troubles and need extra help from time to time to keep us going. I hope he is getting help.

Yep, I've been quietly working on the site and program for the past few weeks.  A new tech support system is now up and running.  I've added and planned for some new features, have been wrestling with cross-browser CSS quirks, and am simplifying and improving things and plan to continue until the whole program is brought up to speed, optimized and more easy to manage and add to. There is much to do, so it could be a few weeks or more until I have an update to announce, but it is surely coming.  :)

Good to see you back... Can you please include Amazon SES support in the next version?  I would appreciate it!

Thanks,

It's been 3 months ago since you made that post.  Do you have an ETA on when you expect an update to come out?  What can we expect as new features?  Do you have plans to include Amazon SES as a SMTP mailing option?

Thanks,
-Brett

Hi Dean,

I've been looking around here, as I'm still using ListMailPRO and there are many features unmatched by any other mail software. I know you've posted some help and support, but I wonder if you are still planning on updating ListMailPRO?

It's been 3 years now since that post, and still no update.

Can you please fill in the owners & users of LMP if you are planning an update, and when it may come about?

Thanks,
-Brett
