Author Topic: Problems uploading 130MB email TXT FILE! on an already 3mil (Read 2686 times)

Hey. I already have about a 3 million email list imported. Now my problem is this. I manually uploaded 1 file into my ListMail folder. Then, I use the
second text box on the Import page, CSV section, to specify the relative path to my file to import.

Now the txt email file is 135 MB big. Then i click on Import. It starts to move, but i got a page cannot be displayed, around the 600,000 user imported. So I had to re import the whole file. which doesnt import duplicates. But i reimport that file. This time it moves really slow importing, mostly showing as duplicates., I mean after like 6 hours, it only imported 200,000 users, and 60,000 duplicates. Moved alot slower then before i had 3 million users

My Question is, How can i speed up this importing process, and can you make like an auto resume on import's. like If it gets a Page cannot be displayed. We can click on continue. and it will import from where it left off

Also is importing 135MB or a 450 MB txt File. not good? does your program not allow that big file?

If So, whats the best thing to do? Should i split the file into more files? If So Whats the maximum Size you recommend of the file to be uploaded. so that it can move faster. and where can i get an email txt file splitter

I can't guarantee ListMail will run smoothly with that many addresses... I usually recommend no more than 1 million addresses per server. Even with 1 million addresses you should be running high-end hardware to keep things running. ListMail does a large amount of personalization and offers many very advanced features. With a list as large as yours you may need to use something more simple.

you said 1 million per server? what if i create 2 subscriptions, and add 1 million on each? would that work.

I bought your product, cause it states unlimited

Also. You said get something more simpler. Well what other email simpler program, is there? that allows importing big txt email files?

I think the point DW was making is that you need a high end server to run a high end mailing system with that number of addresses being processed.

With facilities for complex user selection and sophisticated nesting of mailmerge features the processing power that may be required is increased. It would further increase your problem were you to send HTML and attachments as well.

Although ListMail might cope with unlimited addresses it seems from your results that your server may struggle with the work required to do it.

When sending the emails. There wont be no attachments, or HTML, Just plain Text

And I will prolly only send out emails. 2 times. So not really intersted in the subscription thing. or if they reply or not.

More like a 1 or 2 time send to all emails things

Do you a Good Email program! where it can import Huge txt files, or lots of emails, over 3 million, very fast! and just send ?
