ListMail has always used the fsockopen() PHP function for sending via SMTP, so this should not be a v1.84-specific problem.  If it's a new error, your host may have just recently disabled use of this function.  You'll have to talk to your host about having the function (re)enabled or disable SMTP sending. :(

I was getting this message for a number of weeks, but dailymail was still functioning. Now I get smtp server can't be found, but that happened after the upgrade. I'd hate to have to move servers, any other ideas? I reset the passwords on my server and changed them on my config page but no help there.

I disabled smtp sending and ran dailymail, did not get the listmail report but did get a very old email from one of my lists. Any idea why the dailymail report did not come through?

I recommend talking to your host about the fsockopen() PHP function being re-enabled.  I'm not sure why you didn't receive the dailymail report.  If you'd like me to check into it, please submit your info.
