How to resolve database conflicts
« on: March 29, 2007, 01:25:43 pm »
I have recently exported a database list from an old list and imported it into a new list.  In doing so, I discovered my database of subscribers has grown, yet I have experienced no additions to the list, nor has anyone unsubscribed since last fall.

What could cause these additional names to appear on my list and how can I determine who is actually an active subscriber of my list?  My backup list also reflects these additional people being on the list.

How to resolve database conflicts

Greetings,

If you use the "User Database" -> "Import" page there is an option

Do not overwrite unconfirmed, previously removed or bounced users (if kept in database)

You would need to have the option "keep removed users in the database but don't mail" enabled on the List Settings page for the feature to work.

If you do not have "keep removed users in database but don't mail" enabled there, unfortunately, may be no way to clean up your list (apart from restoring a backup) now that they have been merged.
