hi

my host doesn't support wget so i'm using curl instead.

i can't get autoresume to work with this:

curl -o /dev/null http://www.worldofmagnets.co.uk/xx/resume.php?pw=xxx 1> /dev/null 2> /dev/null

but dailymail works with this
curl -o /dev/null http://www.worldofmagnets.co.uk/xxx/dailymail.php?pw=xxx 1> /dev/null 2> /dev/null

if my host doesn't support wget

do i need to change the following in bounce.cgi
$http_program = "/usr/bin/wget -O /dev/null " . $listmail_url . "/bounce.php";

to
$http_program = "curl -o /dev/null " . $listmail_url . "/bounce.php";

And finally, does bounce emails get deleted in the database or not?
if not is there a script to have bounce emails automatically deleted

thanks a lot

Your cron tasks look good.  If dailymail works then the resume one should, too.  What is the timing you are using?  The correct timing for auto-resume will be similar to as follows (every 30 minutes): */30 * * * *

Yes, that's right. :)

Yes, when bounce.cgi is set up correctly your users will be removed based on the settings of the Configuration page, Bounced Message Handling section, Remove users if they bounce
  • times in
  • days[/i] option.

I could help with this with some custom work (~$40/hr) but you might prefer to make it easy (and free) with Google Analytics.

Unfortunately Google Analytics is no longer free, if you try to login it asks you to enter your name/email to be put on a waiting list, I did finally receive my invitation code - but I believe it took a month or two... so not sure how far behind they are now...

I was wondering about adtrackz, it looks pretty good.  Right now I use google conversion tracking, but I just added MSN and Yahoo PPC, so I wanna track it all...

I was wondering how you liked it and one big thing I was wondering is if it had a PPC Fraud Click check built in?  I didn't see that anywhere on their site, but I see adtrackz is listed on some fraud click sites.

Let me know, thanks.

A tracking program made to address click-fraud is AdWatcher.  I even went so-far as to try it out.  If I recall correctly, the one thing I didn't like about it is it only has 2 tiers instead of 3 (like most PPC engines) for separating campaigns, groups  & links.  It has some good features too, such as the ability to create a fraud-report that can be copied and pasted into an email to your PPC advertiser.

While adwatcher looks decent, I want a NON-hosted software that doesn't cost ongoing fees.

I can't believe they charge monthly for there non-hosted version.

Yeah, you do, I already mentioned AdTrackz, and DW mentioned AdWatcher, these are probably the top two in tracking, along with something like DynaTracker and a few others...

As you see, the best you're probably going to do 'non-hosted' is AdTrackz that I know of... or one of the others, but I like AdTrackz...

Unfortunately - you don't HAVE IT ALL to choose from, AdTrackz will do Google automatically, just set it up and it tracks clickable keywords, google analytics will do it too, if I were you, I would consider contacting Jonah over at AdTrackz about adding Yahoo, MSN support, his product is stable and been around for years...  see other posts about this...

I really like AdTrackz it does exactly what I need, but I haven't used it yet for PPC, I'm not up to that point yet, but will be soon, I'm sure as long as it's been around it works, I've been running it for years!  Consider contacting Jonah over at AdTrackz, he's helpful but can take a while to reply...

Let us know what you find out...
Thanks,
-Brett
