Why bounce cgi works on versions below 1.8 and not on 1.8
« Reply #16 on: June 22, 2005, 09:43:44 am »
Hello Dean,

I have version 1.7 up and running and the bounce.cig works fine but when I try to use ver 1.8 the bounce.cgi does not remove the user from the data abase as configured to do on 1 bounce.

The reason for upgrading to ver 1.8 as you well know is important and mission critical for any responsible list owner.

Having a more user freindly solution from you would be greatly appreciated and really needed.

Hopefully you'll be there for me like I was there for you when you need support

Thanks

Did you overwrite the v1.7 bounce.cgi with the v1.8 one?  If so, you'll need to (again) modify the 'ListMail URL' within the file.  Also, if your host does not support the 'wget' program, used by default by the script, an alternative such as "curl" will need to be configured.

For the v1.7 to v1.8 update, just the files in the main ListMail folder needed to be overwritten - there were not many, if any, improvements to the CGI scripts.
