Problems sending solo emails using the "Send Email"

Hi Dean,

I have Listmail hosted on my web host and I have had some difficulty in sending single emails out.

The autoresponder was installed in the "Listmail" folder and over the past few days, whenever I click "send it" in the "Send Email" interface, my browser shows "The resource cannot be displayed. The resource you are looking for cannot be opened by your browser".

The error message shown in the browser is "HTTP Error 406 - Not acceptable".

After I click "Send It", the browser bar shows: http://www.mydomain.com/Listmail/domail.php?list=9&editmail=1

This feature was used to send out single emails in the past and was  still working as recently as 1 week or so ago, so it is not because it was a new installation.

None of the settings were changed to the Listmail autoresponder either over this period of time.

Would you know what might be wrong, please?

What you report suggests a possible web server misconfiguration.  Your host should view the "error_log" for your web site to find out more information.  I wonder if the possibility exists that your files could have become corrupted.  You might want to try re-uploading the ListMail files or viewing them remotely to ensure they are intact.

If all else fails I may be able to be of further guidance with access to your installation, where I would do basically as suggested above - ie. overwrite the files... and maybe check the PHP version.  There isn't much else we can do as a client.

Anthony,

To allow your host to recreate the error and troubleshoot you might want to create a test list in ListMail and tell them they can send an email to it.

Hi Dean,

Thank you for your prompt and fast reply.  I wrote my webhosting support and they had a look at it.

The "Send Email" feature works fine now and I've asked them if they knew what caused it.

Just received a reply from my webhost and apparently, there were some hack attempts over the weekend, so they beefed up the security on the servers. Anyways, problem resolved now.
