Error message
« on: February 23, 2005, 09:21:46 pm »
When ever I add a user manually it says it sent the welcome email but it never arrives. I get the following error message at the top of the page.

Warning: mail(): SMTP server response: 501 5.5.4 Invalid Address in c:\hosting\webhost4life\member\slmbodywork\mail\admin.php on line 2092

When i test the configuration I get this message,
[SMTP Server]
Is enabled?  Yes
Checking mail.. Connected!
Verifying username and password... Verified!
Connecting to SMTP server.. Connected!
Sending test email to remote address.. Problem setting receiver to Remote Test Address
The SMTP server is not configured correctly. Check your settings.

It says my SMPT server is not configured correctly at the bottom but higher up it says it is enabled and connected?? I am putting an active email address in the remote address. Any idea what is wrong.
Thanks for any help,
Steve

Hi Steve,

Try replacing your files (or just admin.php) with the ones from the member area.  Just a few days ago I fixed a bug where ListMail wasn't issuing a proper Windows-friendly PHP mail() call.

Please let me know if you continue to have trouble.

Regards!

Thanks Dean, I got the upload done but the problem still exists. List mail doesn't seem to connect with my server. I still get the following error message when I try to send a new user the welcome email after entering them in the data base and saving.

Warning: mail(): SMTP server response: 501 5.5.4 Invalid Address in c:\hosting\webhost4life\member\slmbodywork\mail\admin.php on line 2092

Do you know what line 2092 is, as that may give us a clue where to find our error or incorrect entry.
Thanks for your help.
Steve

I'd like to sort this out for you once and for all.  Please submit your server information and I'll take a look.

Hi Dean, I am hoping you can get my list mail sofware working again quickly, the work is piling up. I sent a tech report in as the program disappeared showing me just a blank white page after you said you fixed the last problem I was having.

Sorry about that.  I have fixed it now and also implemented a further fix for the Windows PHP mail() issue in the downloadable release.
