I have switched from AWeber to ListMailPro.  I would like to do this all myself but can't answer all the questions.  Taking a look at the $50 installation I can't answer those questions.  Inquiring at SpokenNetwork about this they tell me I need my own host.  Now I'm totally confused.  I need some schooling to understand.  Understanding is important so I can stand alone with this and not always need someones help.  I am very eager to learn.

Thank you,
Jerry

Hi Jerry,

ListMail is installed on the domain name (~$8/yr) and web host ($10-$20/mo) of your choice.  An ideal web host will allow installation of ListMail and sending of the amount of email you require.  Some recommended hosts can be found in my signature.  ListMail requirements can be viewed at http://listmailpro.com/help/requirements.html

While it is possible to install ListMail on your home computer it is very difficult .  Additionally, your internet provider (ISP) is unlikely to allow hosting of commercial web sites or sending of commercial email.  If your ISP does offer hosting they will likely not have the advanced features supported by commercial hosts and required by ListMailPRO.

The first step is acquiring a domain name and supportive web host.  You run ListMail alongside your (optional) web site.

If you have further questions please let me know!

Thank you for your response.  At the direction of SpokenNetwork I have established a new domain for the minsites i was later going to contruct.  The new domain is looknupaudiobooksites.com hosted by HostGator.  Now that I have done that how do I get ListMailPro downloaded for the site looknupaudiobooks hosted by SpokenNetwork.  I am missing something in my thought process here.
Thank you
Jerry

Hi Jerry,

Please make sure your emails are within Hostgator's policy of a few thousand  per day:

With your web hosting will come "Control Panel" and "FTP" access.  These are required for us to perform an installation and will be required by you if you were to do your own.  Please read up about FTP and web hosting as this is beyond the scope of the support I provide.

I will gladly pay $50 for someone to install ListMailPro at looknupaudiobooks.com.  Apparently it needs to be connected to a server that I have made available at HostGator with the domain name looknupaudiobooksite.com.  Tell me exactly what I need at this point to get it done.

Thank you

Required is your control panel and FTP access which should have been provided with your hosting.  You can order ListMail installation here:

Please login to the member area and click on your support ticket - there may be a problem notifying you of replies which are in fact there.  I believe I have requested your registrar information so I can point your domain to your new host.  Please reply in the ticket - I apologize for the oversight and delay.

Thank you B.C.  What is my next step to set up my autoresponder for LooknupAudioBooks.com?  Remember that at this time I am not setting up for KooknupAudioBookSites.com.  Thank you for your patience with me while I learn this.  Any additional info is appreciated.

Jerry

Hi Jerry,

Please login to the ListMail member area and click on your open support ticket.  I require your GoDaddy (registrar) information so I can point it to HostGator (web host).  This information should not be posted to the forum but through the secure ticket system.

Jerry,

Login to the member area, then click "Tech Support."  You should see your installation under "Open support tickets".

HostGator should provide the correct DNS servers, such as ns5.hostgator.com and ns6.hostgator.com (no idea if those would work - it should be listed in the control panel or introductory email somewhere).

The DNS servers can be applied to your domain at GoDaddy without the need for a tech support request.  (Under "Manage Domains" -> "Edit", or similar)  This will point the domain to the nameservers which will be used to discover the IP.
