More getting started challenges
« on: July 15, 2006, 01:32:10 am »
This is a copy of the reply i made earlier.

Please let me know which you prefer when a topic is ongiong.

New Posting  or   Continue old posting

Anyway
Your case sensitive advice worked and now the next challenge has emaerged:

One step forward and an error message appears:
"admin-31-Table 'resuycom_Listmail1.lm_config' doesn't exist"

Evidentally another stupid mistake on my part
I tried reloading Listmailpro

No luck.

Also

Please say if this is the right way to do some other stuff.

1.
My site ftp does not allow the uploading of folders
Listmailpro has 3 folders
So I manually recreated new folders on the site and loaded the correct files into them so it now looks like the origional v187
Does this cause any problems?

2.
"config.php.txt"
Is how it appears on the site....... I dont yet know the trick to get rid of the "txt" on microsoft
Anyway, I renamed it "config.php" on the site
Is this an acceptable solution?

It would probably be
-simpler
-quicker
-cheaper.... in the short term

To get you / your support team to do the whole job

However, this prog is clever stuff.
It probably requires maintenance.
It is probably better if I know how to make it work myself.
= Less basic questions later

So please understand my determination to understand your creation

Thanks
David

Hi David,

It's a good idea to post different problems in different posts, just in case a discussion develops.

When you typed "install" as the password, was ListMail able to successfully create all the tables?  It doesn't seem like it - your host may not have given you access to the "CREATE TABLE" MySQL command.  For ListMail FULL MySQL table CREATE, UPDATE and ALTER permissions are required.

I don't think it will... but those strange limitations make me worry about your web host a little bit. :)

Yes, when I browsed to your site previously it seemed to be set up properly (It asked to type "install" as the password, which is good - if config.php was not set up correctly it would give an error message).

Upgrading is a simple matter of overwriting the old files with the new one and (re)logging-in to the program for any database updates to take effect.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance!
