Import via browse doesn't work
« on: December 28, 2005, 02:17:46 pm »
Yesterday I got my host to fix a link problem and I was able to import users successfully.
But today it doesn't work.
I've tried to click 'Import Users', then Browse to the CSV file on my PC.
The file shows up in the window, but when I click 'send file',
nothing happens.  I don't get an error message or any other indication that something is wrong.  I tried it several times.

Got any ideas?

Victoria,

I had a look with the access information contained in your support ticket.  There is a hard-to-see error message saying "File not found" after upload.  It seems that your host has attempted to implement a workaround on their server using a different folder and that it may not be working as expected.

You can also upload your file via FTP to your main ListMail folder and manually type the filename into the second box on the Import page.

Uploading with FTP

Dean,
I'd like to upload my list user files with FTP, but I'm not sure how to do it.
I can't find the ListMail directory on my host server.  You installed for me.
Even if I could find it, I don't know what to do next.

Can you help me please?

The folder is /webspace/httpdocs/mail

Upload the file to import into that directory (browse to it on the left [local] and drag it over to the right [remote]).

Open ListMail -> User Database -> Import

Type the filename into the 2nd box on the page and submit.

If ListMail can't find the file and you know you typed the filename correctly, try preceding the filename with ./ which means 'the current folder'.

ie:  ./myfile.txt
