Do downloads include deleted addresses?

I was able to locate the .csv downloads from my lists, and I sent my newsletter out immediately via my regular e-mail app (Courier, aka Calypso).

I had replies from several subscribers who had never received a newsletter before, even though they'd been subscribed for months.

I also had replies from people who had unsuscribed, but whose addresses were nevertheless included in the download. I had numerous undeliverables to previously deleted addresses.

So I am left wondering if this program ever worked properly. The bounce mechanism never worked at all, and now it seems that other functions may have failed too.

I see that on your website you've made clear the potential for server incompatibilities.

As you did the installation for us I trusted it more than perhaps I should have.

Anyhow, I'm not writing in rancor, but to applaud and encourage your efforts to make that point clear.

With the latest files from the member area (v1.77b) you should be shown an option on the Export page that lets you choose the status of users to export.  The options are: All, Active, Unconfirmed, Removed, and Bounced.  Do you have this option?

If bounce.cgi is not working it should be very easy to set up an email account and configure it with ListMail.  As long as the dailymail task is running your messages will be processed.
