I second that recommendation.

I am a new ListMail user, but a long time Dreamhost customer.  I have been very happy with Dreamhost and had a very easy ListMail installation. The only quirk is with ListMail and Dreamhost is that when setting up config.php you can't use 'localhost' for your sqlhost (I believe they have dedicated MySql servers).

I am very strongly considering moving to DreamHost, as I'm beginning to outgrow my current host (through no fault of their own - they've been GREAT).

However, some of the reviews at epinions.com have me worried about their current ability to service the number of customers they've grown into, so I'm curious about what your current thoughts on them are - and how much you "tax" their ability to serve you.

Our business is rich in multimedia and e-commerce. We simply can't have extended downtime and slow responses from support. Has any of this been your experience?

I found their response time to be quite reasonable - never has it taken more than 24 hours for me, even with technical questions.  You do not need to contact support to set up ListMail.

One thing I have found with DreamHost is they do not like very large lists (ie. 40,000 members) as they 'unfairly' monopolize server resources.  If your list is under 10-20 thousand you should have no problems, but I'm just guessing and can't guarantee anything...  Perhaps you should write them with some details about your web site operations and the size of your lists before you switch over.

My host has been lowesthosting.com for a few years now, and I recommend them without hesitation. It's 5$/month, and I get GREAT service (they often reply back in less than an hour).
