Customizing by adding first name to emails
« on: December 24, 2005, 02:23:48 pm »
I know this is rudimentary but I have been unable to attach the code that will allow the person's first name in my emails. I have tried to attach the code that is indicated for this in the email and then test it.  It never works.  I have tried to follow the directions without success.  I don't know where to get the code for the first name and then where to put it.  Is there some one two three instructions I can follow to get this done?   Here are the instructions for message codes.  They are not complete for me to understand.  Al

The code will be replaced by the user's first name or the default text when email is sent.

Code !name

No first name output (optional)

 Capitalize, ie "John"

Click on "Message Codes", then "Global Codes".  You should see the exact code to enter into your messages.  The default code for first name is !fname.  When you are naming the code you do not need to enter the exclamation point.
