code to make a forward this message link?
« on: April 17, 2005, 10:46:34 am »
Is there a way to add the following to end of each email message:

Click here to forward this message.

This way someone could send the email on to a friend.

Was this on aspca newsletter; Short cut is:

When I want to forward mail... I click the 'forward' button on my e-mail client. I find that this sends the mail quite well. Did I miss something here..?

The only drawback with a standard forward is the forwardee will see your name, your details, and your remove link.  Perhaps it would be best for me to create a forward script that would remove the remove link codes but leave the rest intact.  This could also allow for multiple forwards.

As the forwarding comes from your e-mail I don’t see a problem with them seeing your name. Even web based it has to include who is sending it. You wouldn’t want anyone being accused of Spam if it is sent to someone not expecting it.
I take the point about the removal link.
It’s also on the Link to HTML, which could have be forwarded.
If you have a removal link in the text version (which has to be sent to include the Link to HTML), I wonder if it need be on the WebPages as well.
I have never trusted the web based ‘forward to a friend’ system. I always wonder how many are used to collect addresses for future Spam.
If I want to forward something I do it myself.
