« on: July 24, 2006, 05:48:46 am »
Please teel me there's a way to batch remove 274 names from my list?  doing each one individually is taking 2 mins each!!

How do I remove multiple people at the same time?

Hey Lynda,

Going through month-old support I found I did not answer this one.  You'll be happy to learn that "selection" (with checkboxes) and "entire list" user operations are coming in the next update!

Hi DW,

Actually, this won't help much, selecting with checkboxes will just take longer to display any list!  AND, what good is that going to do, you still have to FIND the 20 people you want to remove, that's the holdup.

Have you been using your own list DW?   Go, right now and do a FIND on 20 email addresses and then delete them one by one - the process will be EXACTLY the same with or without checkboxes!

The better way is to provide a 'Bulk Delete' page, where you display an empty window, and let us enter 10, 20, 30, 100, or up to 1,000 email addresses that will then be deleted, also have an option to 'Remove from current list', or 'Remove from ALL lists'.

How do others feel about that?  I really believe this is better, I'm not into going through CHECKBOXES and clicking them one by one for 20 people, when I could just as easily type them into a box and click ONE BUTTON..

Which would you rather do? 1.) Find 20 email addresses in your database and Click 20 checkboxes, or 2.) Enter 20 email addresses in a box and click one button - Delete.

Post your replies...
Thanks,
-Brett

I'll try to put this one in, too, Brett.

Checkboxes will make some operations easier and won't necessarily slow things down, especially considering I'm probably going to take out/revise one of the major causes of delays on the User Database page.  The major cause is the "pages" drop-down.  On large lists this can be thousands of entries long and it can literally double the page load time...

Great idea Brett.

I can see uses for both...and will use both.
