How to fix slow signup?
« on: June 18, 2007, 09:50:36 am »
Hey folks,

This is my first post here. I'd been happily using ListMail for four years on a RedHat box, and when we installed it on our new server running Slackware last week, the signup at www.inpics.net/notify.html slowed to a crawl.

We installed the latest version of ListMail, but that didn't solve the problem. When you submit the form, it takes forever (8-12 seconds) to get back a response.

Any ideas on what may be slowing it down?

Hi Chris,

At first glance I would say MySQL may be overloaded and might need to be tweaked to use more memory, hardware accepting.

Is it possible that your server is under a fairly high MySQL or other load?

Do other, non-MySQL-accessing, pages load quickly?

Here is a post dedicated to optimizing MySQL:

Please let me know if you continue to have troubles.
