How to edit /mail/confirm.php to add a Refer A Friend script
« on: April 12, 2007, 08:38:07 am »
That's my question in the subject line :)  I'm sure it can be done but i looked at all the coding on that page and i don't want to touch it LOL

Instead of one line saying thanks for signing up, you'll get a welcome message soon, i'd like it to say that but also have a full page html for my Refer a Friend script which is located here www.happymommynews.com/Refer_A_Friend.cgi

Thanks a bunch!  Oh, and while i'm at it, is there a way to have a different /confirm.php page for each of my lists (seems to me that it would not be possible) ??

If i want to have a different /confirm.php page would i have to have Listmail installed on a different domain name and host the list there??

thanks,
Crystal

Hi Crystal,

While ListMail does not currently have a refer-a-friend feature, you can add any HTML code you want to the Custom HTML "Signup Confirm" page.  This could definitely include an HTML form posting to your refer-a-friend script.  Usually your script will mention the code you should enter.

To set up a custom set of 6 Custom HTML pages click "Custom HTML" then "New".  Set up your pages, name the set and save it, then go back to "List Settings" and choose the new set in the "Custom HTML" select box.

You should be able to do any and all of this on either your ListMail domain or another domain, or a combination of both.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance! :D

How to edit /mail/confirm.php to add a Refer A Friend script

Hi Dean :)
Because the signup confirm page is one that tell subs to "check their email and click the link to confirm", it's not the page i want to edit.

I'd like to edit the page that a new subscriber is directed to AFTER they click the link in their email to confirm their subscription (i have a double opt in).  I found it at /mail/confirm.php****

How do i edit that page ;)

Thanks as always :)

Oh, gosh, you know what???  I just read a little more carefully and it's the Signup Success page... Sorry about that.  When i read it the first time i stopped reading when it said that it was for when confirm is turned off... further on it says it's also for when it's turned on...

Okay so nevermind, i have it figured out LOL

Thanks
