bounce processing with gmail
« on: September 19, 2007, 03:57:52 am »
Hi,

I'd like to use gmail apps as the email system for my site.
Is it possible to use a gmail account for the bounced emails?
I have an account set up as bounce@mysite.com and have enabled it to use pop download.
I've set up listmail pro to retrieve the mail using pop.gmail.com, type pop3,
login ok, and password ok.
gmail requires port 995, which i have also tested by changing 110 to 995 using phpmyadmin. Still not working...

Any other ideas? Is this possible?

Hi David,

It is unlikely your host will allow sending with a "Return-path" (bounce address) at gmail.  I'm curious - if you want my hands-on analysis please submit your info and I will see if there are other factors at work.
