Emails No Longer Recieved
« on: December 22, 2004, 09:09:08 am »
HI,

I've been using Listmail for 6 months and have not had this problem before.  All of a sudden emails are not being received when sent through Listmail.  It's not my host because sending through Outlook works fine.  When I do a test settings, it says everything is connected.  It says you should receive an email if SMTP is configured correctly, but I don't receive that email either.  I have not changed anything.  Any ideas on what to check would be greatly appreciated.

I just found out that my host has upgraded to PHP 4.3.10... maybe this is the problem?

Hi Tate,

That's scary - when did this occur?   I'm going to look at my configuration now, it seems problems with emails being sent too....  have to look...

NO, the PHP version can't be it, I'm running 4.3.4 have been for months, and it works fine.... the date shows as Jan 21, 2004, so there's probably newer versions of PHP out there, but I don't believe that's causing your problem... most likely a configuration issue?

Good luck, if you find anything let us all know
Thanks,
-Brett

UPDATE:  Emails are now being received OK.. the problem occurred for about 36 hours or so.  I still have no idea why it happened.  For every email list you have always send one to yourself so that you make sure emails are sent.  Had I not had done this I would have never known that 2 very important emails never reached their destination.  I had to resend the next day.

It's really hard to say what's causing this without having access to the server.  Try sending a test message to a test list, then notify your tech support of the addresses you tried to email but didn't receive.  They should be able to tell you if the message was correctly queued and delivered on their end.
