How do I get started?!
« on: March 30, 2007, 07:36:03 am »
Hello
I have had listmailpro installed by the technical department and is all ready to use.
The problem is I do not see where I go to add the lists etc......I am very new to this and to be honest it all seems very overwhelming as I do not understand the technical jargon that is used....please help!!

With kind regards
Sharon

Hi

I have managed to figure out how to put the lists in and it has appeared to have worked.....I have changed the confirmation newsletter to a VIP newsletter. I have signed up to test it and the original newsletter is still sent out instead of my updated one.......the confirm newsletter goes out which was set up by your technical dept, instead of my updated Good-Dogs VIP newsletter. Please can you tell me how I can change this.

With kind regards
Sharon

You said you modified the confirmation newsletter, but did you put a check next to this line on the List Settings page to enable the confirmation process? Could you be receiving the default "Welcome Email"?  If enabled, this message is sent after confirmation or immediately if confirmation is not enabled.

Please let me know if you are still having troubles.

Hi Dean

I believe I am receiving the default message instead.

There is already a check under.....send welcome email on signup or when confirmed.....I have used the edit message to update my VIP newsletter on list one...but it is the default message that is sent out......how do I change this?

I have loaded a follow up message for the VIP newsletter with seq 1 and delay 0.....which means I should have received the follow up message today and I did not....how can I action this too?

Thank you

With kind regards
Sharon

Sharon,

I have not heard any other reports of this.

The confirmation and/or welcome messages will each be sent, if enabled.  Please make sure the message has been modified on the "List Settings" -> "Edit message" page for each message.

Please view your installation support ticket.  It would seem that your cron task has not been configured correctly.

Solution to it.

Kind Regards

To upload the following VIP newsletter.....

I went to list settings>edit messages

I opted for list 1 and added my vip newsletter.

There is a check already on that line.

This is the response I get when I signed up....

Dear sharon

Thanks for subscribing to the Good-Dogs Newsletter.

It's nice to know you're here,

Good Dogs

The subject title is Confirm Newsleter (this line is not checked on the list setting page.....the 3rd option is checked)

I have added the follow up under the vip newsletter and as said before this is not being sent out....seq 1.......delay0

Dean this is really frustrating I want to get going with this and am not able to go any further.....please can you help.

With kind regards
Sharon

Sharon,

It seems like you have the confirmation/welcome email configured correctly and we are just waiting to see if the scheduled task set up by your host will execute (and deliver your followup).

You should receive the "Dailymail Report" and any followup set to Seq 1 Delay 0 when it runs (did your host happen to mention the time and zone at which the task would execute?)

Hi Dean

This is the response I have received from my host

You need to setup it at your local computer as per the instruction given at
> http://www.listmailpro.com/help/dailymail_local.html

This I believe refers back to the instillation that you set up.

Please can you advise what now....as I am stuck in the middle between the host company and yourself....with no newsletters being sent out.

Regards
Sharon

Sharon, your host could have set this up on their Windows server... I will make further suggestions in your support ticket that will solve this immediately.

Sharon,

It appears your signup form is not set to point to ListMail.  Please visit the ListMail "List Settings" -> "Signup Code" page to see how your HTML form should look.
