link to html code
« on: July 29, 2004, 05:55:59 am »
One forum post I read mentioned a new "link to html" code which, it sounded like, could be used in emails sent to AOL addresses or other addresses that will not accept HTML email. I assume this code provides a link to an html version of the email?

I can't find any other information about this code or how to use it in the "message codes" section or my ListMail Pro instructions. Can someone inform me about this option & how to use it, or point me in the right direction for info?

Thanks,

Peggy

When creating a message code choose the code type "Link to HTML".  This type of code will output a link to a web page that will display a personalized version of the HTML section of your message.

There has yet to be an improvement with AOL.  Currently, ListMail sends text-only to AOL even when sending HTML+Text messages.  This was done due to complaints that AOL was bouncing any HTML message that included a link to a remote image (which I assume is spammer 'tracking' prevention).  It also translates links to be "AOL-clickable", which I do not believe is needed with the latest AOL.  I am going to put in some options very soon so you can turn off these undocumented 'features'.  That way, those who have problems can take their own desired course of action.
