Message Codes
« on: September 09, 2007, 10:49:14 am »
I set up three extra message codes. When I sent out the email, the information for the codes didn't populate the email...just the !user or !password.  I'm sure I probably did something wrong, but I don't know where to start to look for my error. Can you help?

I have been looking at the codes, etc. I see there are two places to put code. One is 'Custom Fields" and the other is "Message Codes". Does there have to be a Custom Field before you can create a message code?

I also see that there are TWO exclamation points before my new codes. Is that normal? Instead of !user it says !!user.

Greetings,

Used fields are generally assumed to be enabled (named), but the message codes page allows choosing fields that are not.  This may change so yes, it is best to name codes you use.

The process is a little confusing - when naming your code you should not include the ! as it will be automatically added.  In order to use your codes either use it as configured (!!user) or rename the code without the ! and use !user.

Thank you, Dean...

Since the example had the ! in front of it, I thought that I was supposed to put it there...I'll get it changed and I bet it'll work perfectly :)
