Created selection of 2 combined lists, but wouldn't send.
« on: April 15, 2005, 06:47:50 am »
This morning I tried to send a mail to two lists at once by creating a User Selection composed of the Active members of 2 different lists.

When I sent the mail, I got the following, and no messages were sent:

Average speed: per second. per hour.
Called domail with no messages in queue, aborting.

Finished sending!

Any ideas?

What happens when you hit 'Show Query' when modifying the selection?  Are users matched?  You may need to grab the latest files from the member area as some fixes were made recently.

I think it's an issue of the SQL. I should have chosen OR rather than AND I suppose...

It seemed like AND was the logical choice because I wanted all active users from one list AND the active users from another...but I suppose for SQL, OR is what I'm looking for.  But it makes me wonder how AND would be used at all between two different lists.

Obviously, I'm no SQL expert.

Bob,

The AND/OR functionality can be confusing at first.  AND might be used if you want to select, say, all persons between 25-35 from the US.  Here's the documentation:
http://listmailpro.com/help/selection.html

If you're having troubles saving your queries, particularly the operator used in search (<, <=, =>, !=, or >) you may need to update your files.  A bug made it into some of the original downloads after the last announcement..
