Rename listmail to mail possibility
« on: June 30, 2006, 07:01:57 am »
What if I want to change the whole folder name from listmail to mail ?

I currently have the script install under domain.com/listmail, I plan to change it to domain.com/mail, so that the link is shorter (especially the Link Tracking).

Will it be very hard? ....

I think you might be able to pull something off with .htaccess for this.  Something like:

Redirect /listmail /mail

Check out this interesting page found from a Google search:
http://www.javascriptkit.com/howto/htaccess7.shtml

That should ensure that ALL of your old links work once you've moved the files to the new mail folder...

Set up your ListMail URL on the ListMail Configuration page, update your cron tasks and CGI scripts to contain the new URL (if the redirection works this shouldn't be necessary), and you're done!

Hi Dean,
I currently planning to buy a new domain to start another online business. And the viral marketing script I have brought can't work correctly in my current host... thus, I have no choice and have to find other host.

I am considering to get your host, but before I order, I would like to confirm the script can fully work in your host, else, it's no use.

Thus, I am requesting to you to create temporary access to cpanel so that i can try out whether the viral marketing script can work correctly in your host.

Awaiting reply.thanks.
