How to create followups for ONLY new subscribers

I currently have a large list that I send a newsletter to once a month.  Depending on when a new subscriber signs up, this may be too long of a time to wait. I'd like to set up a series of followups for NEW subscribers only. I can think of some good non-time sensitive resources that I could send.

I've read through the documentation and it's unclear to me whether the WHOLE list would receive the followups, seeing how I've never used followups before. Because of my list size and the Yahoo message delays, I think this would be a BIG problem - so I don't want the entire list to see the followups - just the few hundred that sign up each day.

Is there something I can do to make sure only new subscribes see a series of followups?

New followups are indeed usually sent to all users.  What you can do is use the "Reset Users" feature on the Followups page.  Set all users' "Seq #" to 1 more than your last followup.  This places the existing users at the "End of Sequence" so they do not receive the new followups.  Keep in mind you would probably only want to do this once and not after new users have started on your followups, otherwise those users could be inadvertently moved to the end of sequence.
