Inserting first names into emals
« on: January 12, 2006, 02:12:32 pm »
I have been here before but still have the issue.  I have four data bases.  The Example one I use for testing emails (only three names in it)  that have attachments since I cannot preview an email with attractment on the other data bases.  I am finding that I also cannot preview adding the message code first name using my non-Example data bases as well.  I send the preview and it never gets to my email box.  So it appears that I can only preview an email without message codes and without an attachment.
Here is my problem.  The message codes are data base specific.  So when I go into the message codes for my Regular data base, No. 3 I now have three codes for inserting the first name.  I don't n kow which one to use and since I cannot preview these message codes, I am lost.  So I took a chance and lost.  200 of my subscribers received a message, Dear !fname.  Two of them dropped their subscription.
It seems I have two questions.  Is there a way to preview a message code sending a preview email?  If not, how to do know what message code to insert in my main data base when three different message codes are found with that data base.  If I could experiment, I would try all three but since I cannot and using the Example Data base has different message codes and all I am doing is testing that data.  Your help and directions is appreciated.  I cannot afford another Dear !fname.
Thank you

Al,

I apologize for not responding sooner, your post got lost in the mix.  I have made some changes to the forum, where completed requests are sent to the "Completed Support" forum, so that this never happens again.

I am unsure what is happening here.  I am able to preview messages containing message codes.  If you are still having this problem please submit your info and I will take a closer look.
