Bounce & Signup Scripts on a Hsphere Control Panel???
« on: July 26, 2005, 04:25:45 pm »
Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience setting up ListMail bounce, and signup scripts on a Hsphere Control Panel?

If ANYONE has experience -- and got it working -- PLEASE help!! I am going nuts...

I know my host is using QMail and I have tried the QMail setup according to the ListMail documentation, but without success.

I am not so worried about the bounce (I'll handle that with a regular mailbox), but the signup is crucial for a process I want to put in place.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Scott.

Scott,

Unfortunately I am not overly familiar with the HSphere control panel.  From what I recall, it is their own solution (unlike the widespread cPanel, Plesk, or Ensim managers).

You might ask your host if this (email "aliases" that forward or "pipe" email to a .cgi script) is supported and, if so, how it is set up on your server.  Your admin might need to set these up for you.

Scott,

My host uses hsphere control panel. Just purchased ListMail. Make sure the path in the .qmail file is correct.

 |/usr/account (user name)/www/domain.com/cgi-bin/bounce.cgi

or

 |/usr/account (user name)/www/domain.com/cgi-bin/signup.cgi

I'm sure you figured it our by now, however, this is for those who might have  problems in the future. Follow the instructions closely, they were right on.

.qmail alias works just fine.
