bouncing user removed messages
« on: June 22, 2005, 02:38:58 pm »
hi dean,

after doing an import of email addresses to one of my lists, i received about 60 emails that had 'List 5: Bouncing User Removed' in the subject line..

i don't recall ever having received such emails before - i'm not sure if this happened because of the import that I did (everything seemed to work normal as usual) or if it has something to do with the maybe the bounce.cgi script did it's thing around the same time?

does that make sense? just not sure why i got those 60 messages all of a sudden...

if this helps, it is set up on your server (coachbyemail)

thanks :)

It would be a good idea to take a look at the text near the bottom of the "Bouncing User Removed" notifications.  This text contains the server's response and could tell you if the users should have or should not have been removed.

It is possible that your recent mailings caused some already bouncing users to exceed the "Remove users if they bounce X times in X days" threshold on the ListMail Config page and be legitimately removed.

If you did not send any email after you imported then we should assume that the two are not related.
