SMTP on port 3325 not working

I am using an SMTP service because my web host is not willing to make the necessary changes to their mail server.  It is caching my email and sending out small amounts over a long period of time.

The SMTP server I am using is on port 3325.  When I put that information into the Config, I receive an error upon sending on line 765.  

Warning: fsockopen(): unable to connect to SMTP SERVER NAME:3325 in /home/USERNAME/public_html/listmail/admin.php on line 765
could not open socket with fsockopen()

Any suggestions?

It's possible your host will not allow the function "fsockopen()" to be run.  Are you able to change it to another mail server, such as your ISPs, and not get the fsockopen() error?
